More or less DOS and DONTS for your character. It is suggested that you try to follow these guidelines to help get your character accepted, but they are not 100% rules.
1. DO have a good amount of perks and downfalls.We don't want any perfect or "OMG THEIR LIFE IS SOO BAD THEY NEVER HAD 1 GOOD THING :'(" characters. Make sure they have weaknesses along with strengths!
2. DO make sure characters powers are beatable, resistable ETC, while still being useful for their intended purpose. Want a power that can be considered godmod? Power it down! Tell how it can be avoided, stopped ETC. Time-travel and time-control are still 100% banned, though(and maybe a few others unless you can convince us!)
3. DO give your character a good back-story and well written personalityPLEASE PLEASE PLEASE try not to half-ass EVERY CHARACTERS BACKGROUND AND PERSONALITY. for most characters, back stories are understandably half assed(99% of my characters are this so). But try to give a good personality at least!
4. DON'T make them the greatest ____ to ever live.Unless they are canonically mentioned as that, of course! Mention them as ONE of the greatest, very skilled etc. But don't say they are the greatest! That MIGHT be considered a bit sue-ish.
5. TRY TO keep canon x oc relationships to a minimum. Friendships are understandable ONCE YOU HAVE ROLEPLAYED IT. ROLEPLAY IT OUT. HOW did it happen? WHY? Don't just make your bio with one of the things being "oh yeah and kawaiidesuland is going out with canada lol" until you have rped it. This is a no-no, though oc x oc is alright i guess. This ONLY GOES for things like homestuck, plague, and hetalia that HAVE "canon" characters. (for plague it would just be emma's written characters.)
6. DON'T just assume everyone knows you have a pairing. Roleplay it starting! Roleplay how they meet, how the relation starts, etc. Pairings ARE NOT everything! You don't have to have one for every character! Roleplay with people and develop relationships, while also asking for them OOCly! (also please dont ask for people to MAKE you a character for a pairing. we, or at least I, wont stop the character from being accepted, but it might annoy people)
